The Horowitz Events Centre is located on the University of Alberta’s North Campus in the centre of Edmonton. Our centrally located facilities are easily accessible by foot, transit, bike or private vehicle. 

Edmonton Transit

University Station services 18 bus routes as well as an LRT stop, and is only a five minute walk from the Horowitz Events Centre. See the ETS website for more information. Parking at the Horowitz Events Centre

Public parking is available throughout campus, and we recommend Stadium Carpark, which is directly connected via a covered pedway to the West doors of the Students Union Building on level 7. Education Carpark is also close to our building. Both are wheelchair accessible.

Parking rates vary; see the Parking Services website for more information. Payment can be made with cash or credit at designated pay stations, or by using the HonkMobile app.

Please be aware that all parking on campus is managed by University of Alberta Parking Services, and Horowitz Events Centre staff will not be able to resolve any issues or concerns with parking including rates, tickets or special parking needs. Any questions can be directed to (780) 492-PARK or parking.services@ualberta.ca.

Drop-Off Locations

There are two possible drop-off/pick-up locations if you are using DATS or another transport option, such as a taxi or family member.

• Along Discovery Walk near the University of Alberta's Industrial Design Studio here. Please note that this location is at the bottom of a hill.
• Between the Van Vliet Centre and Education Car Park along 114th St NW here. From there, you can travel North up 89 Ave, which will take you to the South-East Students’ Union Building doors.

Entrances

There are three main entrances to the Students’ Union Building on the Main floor and one on the Lower floor. All entrances have automatic doors.

• The Main entrance to the Myer Horowitz Theatre is on the east side of the building on the Main floor near the University of Alberta Administration Building and Main Quad.
• The closest entrance to or from transit is through the South-East Main floor doors. This entrance also has a ramp on the side of the stairs.
• The South-West doors on the Main floor are connected to the Stadium Car Park and can also be accessed from the discovery walk by going up the flight of stairs.
• There is one entrance on the South side of the Lower floor and it can be accessed by going through the Student Union Building Patio near the atrium.

Elevators

The Students’ Union Building has two accessible elevators.

• The main building elevator is located on the West side of the building near the Stadium Car Park entrance. This elevator can be used to go to each level of the building, including Dinwoodie Lounge on the 2nd floor and Room At The Top on the 7th floor.
• The Myer Horowitz Theatre elevator is on the East side of the building. On one side, it is limited to the Lower, Main, and Second floors of the building, with the Theatre “T” side connecting the Box Office (1T), Theatre Lobby (2T), and Theatre Balcony (3T). It may be turned off to the public during Theatre events.

The Horowitz Events Centre's venues are all wheelchair accessible and provide accessible seating and facilities.
